Deep tissue massage:  Deep tissue massage uses a firmer pressure than a Swedish massage and reaches the key areas in the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body. It is a very good option for people who are comfortable with a slightly more intense pressure or experience soreness, injury, imbalance, tightness or chronic muscle pain.

Deep tissue massage can also refer to gentle, yet sustained pressure targeting the myofascial layer.

Swedish massage:  Swedish massage is synonymous with massage itself and has been around for a very long time. Today it is the most well known and popular type of massage therapy. In Europe it is called the “Classic Massage”. One of the major benefits of Swedish massage therapy is true relaxation. For busy professionals who have long weekdays ahead of them, a great Swedish massage can loosen up tensed back muscles and an aching neck and shoulders. Complete relaxation follows suit! After an hour of this kind of rejuvenating massage therapy, you can’t help but notice the way your body’s movements improve. The increased full range of motion of your neck, shoulders, back, hands, arms and legs and decreased swelling are all significant benefits of this massage experience.

Hot stone massage:  Since ancient times, lava stones have been used for massage. These smooth volcanic rocks are now being used as a natural and effective massage tool. Pregnancy can also be a very stressful time emotionally. Massage therapy, both before and after birth, can help relieve these strains in an extremely comfortable, relaxing way.   Avoid massaging in the first trimester of pregnancy if you have a high risk pregnancy or suffer from Thrombosis or Edema.

  • Don’t eat a heavy meal.
  • If it’s your first time at the clinic please arrive 15 minutes early to complete our consultation form and have a few minutes to rest and relax before starting your massage.

YOU ARE NOT A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MASSAGE IF YOU’RE SUFFERING FROM ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Phlebitis
  • Hypertension
  • Varicose veins
  • Angina pectoris
  • Immediately after surgery
  • Any unidentified lumps or swelling
  • Infectious skin disease, rash or open wounds
  • Immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your physician.
  • Thrombosis or prone to blood clots as there is a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have a heart disease, check with your doctor before having a massage.
