How does permanent eyeliner work?

No more smears or smudges!   Eyeliner can be done in many styles and colours ranging from soft, natural looking lash enhancements to a defined line or a more artistic style, creating the illusion of bigger eyes and accentuating beautiful eyes.

The process is often referred to as micropigmentation. Pigments are gently deposited beneath the first layer of the skin.  The technique is often compared to tattooing, but it is very different. The pigment is not injected as deeply, and it is a much more delicate process.  It is performed with extreme care in a pleasant aesthetic clinic setting, always with an eye on both artistry and safety.  Topical anaesthetics are applied before and during the procedure to reduce the inevitable stinging sensations that come with the procedure.

The permanent eyeliner procedure is typically performed in a session of about 120 minutes, and then, roughly six weeks later, a return visit for perfection session is also necessary.

At first, the eyeliner may appear overly dark but the intensity of the colouring will fade over time to look more natural.  After healing and touch-ups, nearly all patients are delighted with their results.

Immediately following the procedure, brows will appear overly dark, but the intensity of the colouring will fade approximately 20-30% lighter in 2-4 weeks look more natural.

Why get permanent eyeliner?

Every client has her own story to tell, but there are number of common reasons women elect to get this procedure.  Many are simply busy people who would like to remove a time-consuming task from their daily routine.  Others are athletes or sports enthusiasts who can’t perform with make-up on due to perspiration, but who want to look their best at all times. Many are visually impaired or dealing with arthritis, Parkinson’s, and other conditions that make it difficult to apply make-up properly.  Others simply want to look their best with a smudge proof, perfect approach from an outstanding make-up artist.

How permanent is permanent eyeliner?

Permanent eyeliner is a two-step process and includes a perfection procedure 6 weeks after the initial procedure.  With a perfection procedure, it will typically last between three and four years.

Is permanent eyeliner right for me?

Eyeliner and other permanent makeup is an extremely safe and effective approach when performed by seasoned aesthetic professionals.  Even so, no cosmetic procedure is for absolutely everyone. Clients should be over 18 years of age and it’s very important to let us know if you have any health concerns that might be an issue in respect to having pigment implanted into your skin.

It is recommended that you refrain from wearing contact lenses until healed to prevent infection.  If you have been using a lash growth serum, prone getting to or currently having any infection build up around the eye, or wearing lash enhancements, you are not a good candidate for this procedure.
