This peel achieves a true rejuvenation of the skin resulting in the dramatic improvement in the skin’s elasticity, texture and colour.  The effect of this treatment continues for up to 12 months after the peel as collagen and elastin formation continues to take place within the deeper layers of the skin.

How many Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal peels do I need?
​A course of two Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peels to achieve the best results possible.  The second treatment is performed six weeks after the first treatment.  ​ Depending on the condition and severity being treated, some clients may only require a single treatment. 

Annual maintenance treatments are generally recommended but will be discussed with you during your consultation.

Do I need a pre-peel consultation?
​You most definitely do.  You will have an opportunity to discuss your proposed treatment in detail, as well as pre- and post-care, expectations, discuss your medical history, and to ensure there are no medical contra-indications which may prevent you from undergoing this treatment.​

How long will my downtime be with the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal peel?
Important to note that this is a deep skin peel, and you would want to remain indoors as much a possible for the first five days whilst you shed your old unwanted skin.  This unique system requires a technique which involves two separate applications of a special cream medium to the skin, 24 hours apart.

Day 1: Your fist treatment at the clinic (duration time two – three hours).  Your skin will be red but not unsightly.

Day 2: Your second treatment / application (duration time two hours).  Your skin will be sensitive and you will then need to stay out of the sun for the next week. 

Day 3: The skin takes on a brownish tinge which darkens to its maximum intensity on the fourth day, appearing sun burnt. 

Five days of serious hibernation is usually recommended, as the peeling is extreme.  All patients are encouraged to purchase sunglasses, a UV protection CANSA approved sun hat, and a scarf to protect the neck.

Day 7: Returning to the clinic where we will remove the layers of dead skin and unveil your new, baby fresh skin.

Is the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal peel painful?
As the peel is applied, there will be a stinging heat for a few minutes.  We make you as comfortable as possible with a fan blowing on you. This stinging sensation does not last long and subsides.  Most patients fall asleep during their two-hour treatment with the peel on.

What happens if my skin itches, may I scratch?
No, under no circumstances should you scratch or ‘massage’ your skin.  The skin must peel naturally. You must also avoid touching the skin unnecessarily.

Can I only have my face treated with this peel?
No. The face and neck area will be treated in one treatment.  The peel yields excellent results on decollete (chest) / arms / hands etc. but those should be treated in a separate appointment.

What will my aftercare entail?
Aftercare is very important in the form of high-quality SPF, sun hats, sun protection, medical grade skin care, and an annual maintenance Elaine Brennan GetGlowing peel is always a great way to maintain. Additional aftercare may be discussed and prescribed in order to achieve the best outcome possible with maximum results.
